Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (collectively known as Inflammatory
Bowel Disease, or IBD) are chronic digestive
disorders of the small and large intestines. Both the cause and the cure for
IBD are unknown.
It is estimated that 2 million Americans suffer from IBD, with 30,000 new
cases diagnosed in the U.S. each year. Anyone can get IBD, but young adults
between the ages of 20 and 40 are most susceptible. Symptoms range from mild to
severe and life-threatening and include any or all of the following:
. Persistent diarrhea
. Abdominal pains or cramps
. Blood passing through the rectum
. Fever and/or weight loss
CeraLyte provides relief to many individuals with these
symptoms.
